I have a question...

How long does it all take?

It's just me that does all the admin, sewing and posting at Sewing Memories (except for when I rope in the other half and daughter to help me parcel and go to the Post Office) so turnaround times will vary throughout the year. Once I have received the clothing and payment, your keepsake it should take between 2 - 6 weeks, depending on type of keepsake ordered. You can pre-book me for a specific month if you want to work to a certain date though such as a birthday or Christmas.  However because I pre-check all orders I can let you know an estimated completion time BEFORE you commit and send me anything.

How many items of clothing do I need to send?

I have given a general guide on the product pages however these are not always prescriptive.  We can talk about what you have and whether that will be enough or too much at the design and ordering stage via e-mail. If you have any special parts that needs to be included or bits you would rather not see just say.  I will obviously avoid any stained or very loved bits from children's' clothing - stain remover doesn't always get everything out does it!! Feel free to separate them into 'must include' and 'extras' if you wish.  Notes can also be pinned or sellotaped to individual items of clothing with instructions. If making for more than 1 keepsake I can mix and match with them or use one set of clothing for one etc.  We can talk about it all.

How do I get the clothing to you?

When we have confirmed the design and all other elements I will forward my postal details.  I recommend you post the clothing using a recorded service and include your return address as well as the personalisation that you would like on the item/s.  I will confirm once they have been received here and are safely in my house.  Alternatively, I am based in Minster on Sea in Kent so if you are local we can arrange for you to drop over.

Always love a chat :)

Can I send any sort of clothing at all?

No, I am good but not that good!

Cotton fabrics work the best but that's not only what I can use.  I struggle with anything too thick such as leather coats or too stretchy like swimming costumes.  Typically, vests, sleepsuits, t-shirts, leggings, p-j's, trousers, shirts, jumpers, dressing gowns and ties are typical. Let me know when we e-mail if you have any specific concerns or even send a picture.  We will talk about it all before sending so any questions will get resolved.

Do you do gift vouchers?

Absolutely - everyone likes to get a gift voucher!

Personally though I like to make these for an item rather than a monetary amount.  Therefore contact me and decide what you would like to purchase your loved one, such as a buddy or a cushion, and that's what I will write on the gift voucher and post out to you in physical form.  If you would like a traditional money value though so they can put that towards an item I can do that also.
